self-destruction doesn’t always look like taking too many pills or cutting your skin open. sometimes it’s drinking coffee when you know caffeine gives you panic attacks. sometimes it’s crossing the street without looking both ways. sometimes it’s showering with the water a little too hot. sometimes it’s avoiding eye contact with your reflection in the mirror or ridiculing your problems rather than addressing them. sometimes it’s walking out without sunscreen in scorching heat and not wearing enough when it’s freezing out. self destruction isn’t always physical mutilation, mostly it’s masked as little things so never assume what someone may be going through just bc they don’t show you visible signs of suffering.

You want to know what pain is? Pain is coming home after a long day of being out and wanting nothing more then to sleep and never wake up. Pain is staring at your reflection in the mirror, hating everything that you see with disgust in your eyes. Pain is crying your heart out when you’re realizing how alone you actually are. Pain is being tired of everything, but still forcing yourself to fake happiness. Pain is begging yourself to be strong, to keep on trying even though you know you’ve already given up.
Mirror, mirror on my wall,
I just want to be thin, pretty and tall.Mirror, mirror if I change my hair,
Maybe someone will care?Mirror, mirror if I starve myself,
At least I’ll be beautiful forget my health.Mirror, mirror if I cut my wrist,
Maybe I will feel like I exist?Mirror, mirror don’t you see, what you show is ruining me.
Far too long it had watched her cry,
So the mirror decided to reply:
“What you think you see?
It isn’t true the misery,
Is found inside of you.”Don’t lock yourself in a broken soul,
Or I promise you one day,
You’ll lose all control.
Mirror, Mirror, on my wall,
I just want to thin, pretty and talk.
Mirror, Mirror, if I change my hair,
Maybe someone will start to care?
Mirror, Mirror, if I stave myself,
At least ill be beautiful, forget my health.
Mirror, Mirror, if I cut my wrist
Will I feel like I exist?
Mirror, Mirror, don’t you see?
What you show, is ruining me .
My Love In My Mirror
An AU where Jean and Marco meet through a mirror which is actually a rip in space and time. This rip allows them to see and speak to each other as if they were in right in each other’s company. They’re the only ones who can actually use the rip to communicate. No one else can see nor hear Marco’s end of the rip except Jean, and vise versa. Completely willing to seem insane to the rest of the world, they continue to sit next to their mirrors to speak and enjoy each other’s company from worlds away.
You should know I didn’t take my time on drawing this comic because the idea has been in my head far too long and I rushed to get it out, ok.
Are you trying to kill me? ‘Cause that’s what is happening right now.
brokenazalea: What does that even mean?? That I’m doing this for attention? Well hate to break it to you sweetheart, I’m not. I care about the cause. I care about people. I care deeply about the opt unity of human life. I’m sorry if you can’t see that.
Believing the lies you tell yourself, you occupy your time with others.
It is only a reflection of what is already stirring inside you.
You are running from the vortex sweeping through the human soul,
the whirlpool sucking individuals down to the murky bottom.
You are bottom-feeding on people who are just bottom-feeding.
The ones who really want to die don’t give you a chance to help.
There is no cause, it’s just a phantom in your mind to pass the time.
So you let yourself be dazzled by cutesy words and pretty faces!
So what? If you really saw the unity in human life,
you’d know the world is as cold as it actually feels.

The world is not as cold as it feels though. The world has light in it. It’s just hard to see. Haven’t you ever felt love or community or joy? It’s okay to feel broken. And it’s okay to ask for help. You just have to set down the judgment and let yourself feel the moment for what it really is. Open up your mind a little. Open up your heart. It’s okay to let things get to you. That’s the human experience.

The world has literal light in it. The figurative light you speak of has died out of the world, and that image in your mind is just a symbol built into you at one of the deepest levels. Your imagination is blinding you to the truth. The only instinct left in humanity is to turn away from truth. That is precisely why the light has died and is never coming back.
The resistance of people to their demons and their desire to be ‘rehabilitated’ (for lack of a more convenient term) is only a lingering desire to drift into a state where they reject the truth entirely again. This is what is known as “ignorance”, which literally means to ignore the state of things.
Eat some chocolate or get laid, paint a picture or write a poem. Play a video game or watch a movie. It doesn’t matter. It’s all escape from reality. It’s all escape from the fact there is no light left in the human soul.

I hate to say this but I feel really bad for you…

Faye Halliday a.k.a. Haathi is a UK-based business owner, adventure junkie and artist.
So this is what you are seeing here; my vision of “beauty”. A small part of me, my soul and my interpretation of the world and this “idea” translated onto a piece of paper. Why not take the patterns of a butterfly and put them onto an animal to enhance its aesthetic beauty? To create my own version of a distorted evolution, if you will. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not necessarily saying my drawings are beautiful, and I’m definitely not implying that these creations are more beautiful than the animals themselves in all of their natural glory. I’m simply providing a hand drawn pathway for other people to experience this “idea” and perception through my eyes and mind.

It doesn’t make sense to call ourselves ugly, because we don’t really see ourselves. We don’t watch ourselves sleeping in bed, curled up and silent with chests rising and falling with our own rhythm. We don’t see ourselves reading a book, eyes fluttering and glowing. You don’t see yourself looking at someone with love and care inside your heart. There’s no mirror in your way when you’re laughing and smiling and happiness is leaking out of you. You would know exactly how bright and beautiful you are if you saw yourself in the moments where you are truly yourself.
Fun Vampire Fact; the reason that Vampires traditionally cannot see their reflections in a mirror is because mirrors used to be backed with a reflective layer of silver — which, as the metal of purity, would not ‘interact’ with Vampires, who are the Devil’s work.
However, modern mirrors have used aluminum as their reflective backing for many years now — and aluminum is not a ‘picky’ metal at all. So Vampires are able to see their reflections in modern mirrors.
All I can think about is a vampire used to not seeing their reflection in mirrors for centuries, and one day they are just walking along and unknowingly pass a mirror backed with aluminum and THEY NEARLY SHIT THEMSELVES.
And film was exposed using silver in the emulsion fluid for old photographs. But with more advanced photographic technology and things like digital cameras theres no need to use silver in the printing process.
I can imagine old vampires being super into selfies because they never got to keep pictures of themselves before.
